Queen of ⚔️ ~ Three of đź“€
Once there wasn't and once there was a Queen who ruled with wisdom and discernment. Beneath her royal finery she wore the ragged robes of loss and grief. She has learned that sorrow begins with a momentous slash but that it heals with the minutiae of a thousand daily strokes.
Sighing she acknowledges what is unfolding in the background of her awareness, that gesture follows what the mind touches, that the present informs the past as much as it does the future.
Beauty is never done articulating itself, she admits, and she finds this epiphany comforting. Following her inner trajectory further we might come to see the profound humanity beneath her dispassion. Her realization that perfection is found inside the seeking of itself as it discovers its way slowly earthwards through heart and hands.
She gathers her sovereignty inwards, breathing slowly with the generosity of a woman who carries a secret available to anyone with the ears to hear it. Vision and incarnation complete each other through humility, the patient attention to detail.
I've not worked with the cards this way before but this deck seemed to ask to be interpreted with a kind of old-style narrative and it stretched me both creatively and from an interpretative standpoint. I was drawn into the story of the characters, into their feelings, their actions in a way that has left me feeling an intimacy with them that doesn't normally occur with the cards. Definitely want to work this way again should the Muse call.
I love how you have woven this story Rose, especially the first part which was very moving.

DeleteA beautiful approach, and a beautifully written story. <3 It's interesting how cards can trigger this sort of organic outflow, like they are asking to be expressed in verse. It has only happened to me a few times over the years, via poetry, but it's quite an interesting experience. How do you like this deck, over all?

I'm still somewhat new to the deck but as I've been immersed in the realm of myth, fairytale and Eastern Europe it is speaking to the part of me that hungers for that world, where the magical and mundane co-exist seamlessly. I think if you approach it from that kind of perspective the deck becomes part of that magic. The artwork is lovely but very specific in the Russian miniaturist style, the whole deck. There is some background to some of the figures in the cards but it is randomly strewn here and there through the LWB. All in all I'm very happy with it and look forward to a unique relationship with it.
